Instagram is the new Facebook (for now)
SOS. It's time to jump ship, save yourselves, go on without me etc.
While many community managers are still drowning their sorrows over abysmal Facebook fan engagement numbers; the smart cookies among us are enjoying the fruits of their labour over on Instagram.
Why? Maybe it's the ease of engagement on Instagram (double tap for a like), or the clean layout that has yet to be cluttered by branding and/or advertising. Well, at least not yet.
Facebook took ownership of Instagram in 2012, which means it could be only a matter of time before Instagram business users are led to the same fate of being forced to pay for engagement.
But hey, let's be glass half full about this! For now, go forth, experiment with images and hashtags that represent you, or your brand.
